Happy New Year and welcome to The Antigua Calendar 2009. The years are flying by and the first decade of the twenty first century will soon be history!

I have provided you with a brief history of La Antigua Guatemala on the back cover and some interesting tidbits of colonial information scattered throughout the calendar grid.

I hope you enjoy the artwork chosen for the calendar this year, the style is slightly different and a softer palette of colors used. On the cover there is a beautiful painting of the Seminario Tridentino, which is on 5th Calle, next door to the Colonial Museum, and it has been on this site since the end of the 17th century.

It is wonderful to hear from friends near and far who let me know how much they enjoy the calendar; many thanks for your encouragement. Once again a special thank you to my support team, without you the calendar would not be possible.
